I'm blogging right now from my new apartment in Indianapolis! This was my favorite move yet: it took all of five minutes to move my 2 suitcases from the car to the apartment and, bada-bing, I'm already set to live here for a few months. Sweet:) My new home is nestled in a great area that is really safe seeming and has lots of "stuff" around, but there is also lots of grass/trees so it doesn't seem quite AS city as it could...thankfully. Oh and don't worry Mom & Daddy, I have my mace-spray on my keychain;)
My first weekend in the Midwest started with a drive to Lafayette, Indiana (home of Purdue University) to see my friend Jenn. Our lowkey Friday pm included dinner in the "college-y" part of town, the grocery store, Wal-Mart, and a rented movie...crazy, huh?!?! Haha:) Saturday morning I woke up and drove a bit further west into Illinois to my friend Kacy's house for a going-away party for her and her husband. Swimming, home-made ice cream, and lots of giggling and catching up were the highlights of the day. I'm so pumped to be so close to such good friends though! Sunday I completed the road trip as I came back to Indy...if you want to know what the country looks like that I drove through, just open up a Country Living magazine or a Farm Journal or Progressive Farmer. Corn, soybeans, old farm houses and barns line the highways perfectly! Oh, and another indicator the Midwest is the Bread Basket of America? On the Christian radio station, in addition to the regular news update, they also have an update on corn and soybeans! Both of which are late this year, in case you were wondering.
I'm looking forward to a great second week of work because this week I'll get to be "in the field" on Friday learning about poultry up close and personal!
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
